1. Visitors can't tell what you do in 5 seconds
If your headline is "Welcome to our website" or a vague slogan, people leave. Say who you help, what you do and where: "Bookkeeping for restaurants in London".
2. There's no clear next step
Pick one primary action — book a call, get a quote — and repeat it in the header, after every section and at the bottom. Too many choices means no choice.
3. Your forms ask too much
Every extra field loses people. Ask only what you need to respond: name, email or phone, and one or two qualifying questions.
4. It's slow, especially on mobile
Most visitors are on phones, often on mobile data. Heavy images, page builders and plugins slow things down. Test with Google PageSpeed Insights and fix the biggest issues first.
5. There's no proof
Reviews, real project photos, client logos, case studies and credentials do more selling than any paragraph about "quality and service".
6. Prices are a total mystery
You don't need a full price list, but "projects typically start from $X" filters out bad-fit leads and gives good ones the confidence to contact you.
7. You're attracting the wrong traffic
Ranking for broad informational terms brings visitors who aren't ready to buy. Make sure your key pages target searches with buying intent — e.g. "kitchen remodeler near me" rather than "kitchen ideas".
8. Enquiries arrive but nobody replies fast
Sometimes the leads are there — they just go cold. Responding within minutes rather than hours makes a big difference (see speed to lead). An AI assistant or automated follow-up fixes this.
9. You're not tracking anything
Without tracking form submissions, calls and bookings, you can't tell which pages and channels work. Set up privacy-friendly analytics and conversion events.
